Vintage Cream Colored Ceramic Dutch Children Planter
Vintage Cream Colored Ceramic Dutch Children Planter
This is a creamy off white mid-century ceramic planter with a darling design of a Dutch boy and girl on either side of a wooden barrel to hold a miniature plant.
This piece has no manufacturer marks but I am assuming it is from the 1940's or 1950's from the style and the collection of the Estate sale where it was located.
The piece is in really nice condition with no chips or cracks. There is surface crackling primarily along the base and inside of the middle barrel. The boy and girl figures are blemish free which is incredible with all the little parts of the mold that created a surface to chip. The surface glaze is still very smooth with a wonderful habit of catching the light where ever you set it. There are a few very small imperfections in the outside of the piece, but nothing that is very obvious. There is one small dark dot on the girls head that appears to be there from manufacture. I do not think it would be able to be used outdoors, it should be indoors only. The base is stained from age.
