Vintage Jane Batteiger Original Gouache Painting of Trees in Winter

Vintage Jane Batteiger Original Gouache Painting of Trees in Winter

$70.00
This is such a wonderful piece by a Northern Michigan artist, Jane Batteiger. I was lucky enough to attend an Estate sale of one of her patrons and found two pieces to bring to Warmth and Cheer!

This piece is signed on the front Batteiger and has all the characteristics of the other painting which she indicated is gouache. It is a wonderfully composed painting of a rural setting in Northern Michigan. The bright blue of the winter sky is in direct contrast to the bare trunks and branches of the trees. The snow covered ground signals quiet. The perspective is interesting as it seems to be looking up a slight hill with no tree tops in sight.

It is currently housed in a embellished silver wood frame and deserves a custom framing! The piece itself is taped onto a white double mat and has been protected under glass so is in very nice condition. The frame is also very nice with a black velvet back and a hanging wire.

Jane Batteiger is a year round resident of Leelanau County. She has spent many years involved in art education and landscape painting. The opportunity to live and paint in Leelanau County has developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and change of seasons that the area provides. Jane feels privileged to live in an area where man’s footprint has blended naturally into the mosaic of lakes, beaches, dunes, and forests. As an artist, the continuing shift of this incredible landscape provides constant inspiration. Jane is involved in the Glen Arbor Art Association having served on the Board of Directors and is a past president of GAAA. She exhibits her work locally and participates in area shows.

I am not certain if Jane is still painting commercially.
