Vintage 1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee Linen Towel
$22.50
This unique towel commemorates The Queen's Silver Jubilee from 1977 and pictures six noteworthy places in her world; Stage Coach leaving Buckingham Palace, Balmoral, Sandringham, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Trooping the Colour. Heraldic shields and ribbons decorate around the images with her crown at the center top.
The illustration is by artist Clive Mayor, signed in the bottom right corner. It is also labeled made in Britain all cotton vista along the bottom edge.
The condition of the towel is excellent vintage. The linen is a fairly large open weave. It has some creases from being folded for a significant period of time. There are no dirty smudges along the creases. There are a few spots where the royal blue border has nicks in the fabric, showing the white underneath. There are also two very small dark spots from aging, or storage. It has wonderful bright colors and displays well.
A beautiful piece of English History!
Dimensions:
