A pitch pipe is a small device used to provide a pitch reference for musicians, this one specifically for the guitar using Spanish tuning. The Open G Tuning (Spanish Tuning) is a guitar tuning in which the guitar is tuned to DGDGBD instead of the standard tuning EADGBE. This gives you a G major chord if you strike or pluck the guitar without gripping it. The keynote, the G, is on the 5th string.

This is a fun little, vintage piece, from Frey Mfg. in the original box. The box indicates Frey Mfg. Newark NJ Spanish Guitar Pitch Pipe Model A-440.

The pitch pipe itself is a small blue circular plastic piece with e B G D A E noted on the front and back. There is a small bracket for a cord to be inserted. I do not have a musical ear, but I did blow into each of the sections and the sounds were incredible, and very different as you moved through the scale. Is it in tune itself, I don't know, but it sounds lovely!

Everything is in wonderful vintage condition. A charming gift for a vintage loving musician, or a display item in your music room. The box has slight edge and corner wear and 1.95 written in pencil on the front.
