What a treasure - this decorative and playful teapot from Figgjo Norway’s ‘Market’ range. The piece was designed in the 1960s by Turi Gramstad Oliver. The imagery on the pieces in this collection featured different characters at food markets dressed in folk-style clothing. This design is of two ladies and a gentleman at their flower stall. The color scheme is shades of green with brown accents and it quite distinctive.

The tea pot is made from heavy, quality ceramic. The widest part of the teapot is subtly ridged. The little top has a distinctly pointed lid with a small greenish brown decorative band. The shape is very MCM as well.

The teapot is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The inside is clean. Minimal signs of wear, or even use, including to the design. The only noted aging marks are dark areas around the perimeter of the base. The base is unglazed, the remainder has a very shiny, silky glaze.
