Antique Hull Alpine Village Ceramic Beer Stein with Handle
Antique Hull Alpine Village Ceramic Beer Stein with Handle
$23.00
What a fun find - a bit rare - and definitely something to add to your beer stein collection. This ceramic beer stein from Hull features a scene of folks sitting outside in an Alpine Village setting, the Alps in the background and various plants and animals in the foreground. These figures are in bas relief and the handle has decorative elements as well. The colors are shades of brown with the top and bottom rim in a softer beige. It has as overall high gloss glaze that is a special touch on the piece.
It was manufactured by Hull; the underside clearly shows the letter H in a circle and the number 492.
There is one small dark spot and a hairline crack that is visible on the top rim. There are two small spots where the bas relief has been nicked on the face and arm of the people, but they are smooth so it could possibly be that they are manufacturing flaws. The bottom rim has usage marks from being set on the table. This would be a fun piece to use on the bar to hold stir sticks or spoons. Or, it would serve well on the stove top for holding smaller wooden spoons and other cooking utensils.
Dimensions:
6 1/4" tall
5 1/4"" wide with handle
3" diameter at top
3 3/4" diameter at base
