I spied this on the counter at an Estate Sale and loved the retro colors - pink, yellow, green and white - and the MCM imagery of fruits, with the pineapple taking center stage, was the selling point. Had to have it for Warmth & Cheer!

This is a fun piece of retro kitchen ware and could of course be used for it's original intention - storing recipes. But, it would also be fun to use in your work from home office to hold business cards or other paper bits--because face it, we are still not out of the era of business cards and paper. Or, how about it your pantry to hold seasonings ( I use one in my tea drawer for tea bags and it's perfect!) or in your craft room for ribbons and buttons. The usages are limitless!

The box is in decent vintage condition. There are some surface marks and scratches, but no rust to speak of. The colors are still bright, yet subtle, as was the original design construct. I believe the coloring on the top has faded a bit as the front image is even brighter. The hinge works well. Three is some splatters of paint on the bottom, not sure what that is about! It is marked on the bottom J. Chen & Co. Made in USA.

Really fun!
