I see a lot of baskets at Estate sales and am quite particular about those I select for my customers. Imagine how excited I was to come across this collection of incredibly intricate, handmade baskets in soft colors and/or 3D embellishments,

This is a really nice, handmade vintage basket in a traditional gathering basket shape with double handles. The sides are pastel colored wicker in shades of pinks and oranges. The top rim is neutral with the ends completed such that they look like little triangular ridges. The bottom is a nice oval unstained wood piece which creates support and a flat surface for the basket. The double handles are wood that are built into the sides of the basket so there is little chance of them coming loose. The handles have really securing hinges that allow the handles to move up and down with ease.

The craftsmanship on this basket is unparalleled. There is no signature but I am comfortable that it was handcrafted based on the information from the Estate sale.

The style and craftsmanship lead me to believe it is from the 1980s. It is in excellent condition. There are no stains, chips or cracks and only the slightest of fraying on a few pieces. It is just beautiful! What I find most intriguing is that it was made with such rustic elements, yet it has a delicate, almost feminine feel.
