This is a great find! A folk art hand carved wooden bowl with authentic look and feel. This larger profile wooden bowl would also be a great way to serve bread or rolls on a buffet, use as a catch all spot on the entry way table or in a centerpiece.


It does show it's age. There are cracks in the base of the inside of the bowl, only one of them goes all the way through to the bottom. There is a chip of wood missing on the top rim - it is smooth to the touch. There are two prominent knots on the one side - look great. Some wood filler has been inexpertly applied to the gaps in those knots. I think this presentation could be improved with a little TLC. There are a few spots of light blue paint along the top rim as well that would be easy to remove, if preferred. There are also dark spots in the wood and a good oiling with teak oil would do it wonders!

I believe there is a makers maker on the center bottom but I can not decipher it at all. There is a nice shape to the top rim and an 1 1/4" top rim along the outside.

This is a wonderful piece of folk art and belongs in your collection!
