Vintage Acme Rotary Mincer with Green Wood Handle
Vintage Acme Rotary Mincer with Green Wood Handle
$22.50
This is a fun piece of vintage kitchen ware. This was part of an amazing vintage green-handle farmhouse kitchen tool set that I acquired at a recent Estate sale. It is a very sturdy, ACME rotary mincer with a sturdy stainless steel mincing blade and a green wood handle which displays well and works even better! And this one has the original box as well which identifies it as a piece from 1935. The copy and graphics on the box are wonderful:
tastefully served food tastes better
To mince parsley, spinach, cabbage, celery, onions, fruit, etc., spread evenly on a chopping board a fair quantity of the food to be cut and press the thumb firmly upon the mincer while rolling it crosswise and lengthwise. Vegetables for relishes and salads can be chopped with lightning rapidity by this method.
To cut Noodles: Roll dough out flat and run mincer firmly across, cutting ten strips of uniform width at each stroke. Cooked chicken for Chow Mein or salads should be cut in the same manner.
For Tendering Steaks: Roll the mincer firmly criss-cross so as to cut fibres of meat.
This utensil is especially valuable food for invalids and health food vegetables which are eaten raw.
Important: Always use this utensil on a wooden chopping board and keep the guard snapped in place.
Cleaning Directions: See Side of Carton
Always rinse the metal parts with hot water immediately after using. Place over a hot stove to dry the moisture which remains between the cutting wheels.
The mincer is in amazing condition for it's age. It really does not look like it was ever used. The box is still also quite nice but it shows it's age much more. Both of the ends of the box are missing and there are a few rips in the cardboard. I suspect it has darkened with age as well.
Dimensions:
Mincer - 7 1/2" long - full piece, 4" long - handle, 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" mincing blade
Box - 8 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 3/8"
There is a companion set with a red handle also available in a separate listing!
