Retro Duplex Sifter with Yellow Wood Handle and Lids

Retro Duplex Sifter with Yellow Wood Handle and Lids

$32.00
I am a sucker for any vintage kitchen tools that have painted blue, green or yellow handles and this Duplex 5 Cup Sifter fits the bill perfectly! The front is identified as 5 Cup Duplex Sifter in raised lettering. The top of each lid is embossed UNEEK Utilizing Co, Chicago.

This is a more unique piece. It is a tin ware flour sifter featuring a two-compartment sifter with yellow wood handle. There are screw on lids on both the bottom and the top which allows the sifting to happen by a swinging back and forth motion. Inside has a mesh paddle that sifts the flour when in motion.

The handle is made of wood and painted yellow. The paint has some scuffs on the end and some spots of discoloration. It could stand a thorough cleaning but I wanted to sell as I found it at an Estate sale (someone may want the authentic look of past use!) The silver metal body has just the slightest of dents on the side and some areas where the surface still has a degree of shininess. It has oxidized quite a bit with age. The inside wire metal sifting mechanism seems to be in working order. Significant oxidation and spots of rusting on the entire piece.

This would be great for baking or for display.
