Vintage Wizard of Oz Madame Alexander Mini Dolls & Book
Vintage Wizard of Oz Madame Alexander Mini Dolls & Book
$125.00
In the early 2000s the Madame Alexander doll company collaborated with McDonald's to place adorable miniature Wizard of Oz dolls in their Happy Meals as a merchandising toy giveaway. I have been collecting these for a while and now have enough to act as a starter or completer set for a collector, or just a fun set to add to your Wizard of Oz memorabilia.
The set includes five of the Madame Alexander dolls. None are in their original packaging. all have markings of the Madame Alexander company and I am comfortable they were from this promotional concept. The dolls all have their original costumes. They are in played with condition. Nothing is broken or torn but the hair is a bit unruly on those with hair. Really clean otherwise. The dolls are all double jointed so the arms and legs move, the eyes open and shut and the heads swivel. The clothes are not to be removed. There is a Dorothy, Good Witch, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion included in this set. Really nice details are included on these dolls for a "give away". Dorothy has the Yellow Brick Road on her dress and ruby slippers, The Good Witch holds a wand and has a crown, The Scarecrow has a diploma on his tunic and a fun pointy hat. The Tin Man has a red heart on his tunic and an oil can hat. The Cowardly Lion has a fun tail and pretty red bow.
Dimensions: 5" (Dorothy and Lion) and 6" (Good Witch, Tin Man, Scarecrow) Tall each
Also included with the set is the 1951 Wonder Book Adapted and Abridged from L. Frank Baum's Famous Story, "The Wizard of Oz". Illustrations by Tom Sinnickson. The title page indicates, This book is a retelling of the famous tale of The Wizard of Oz, especially designed for very little folk. When the little folk are a little older, they will want to read , as their fathers and mothers did, the whole wonderful story, many times longer than this, just as it was written by L. Frank Baum. The book is in really nice vintage condition with a few scuffs on the front cover corners and some yellowing of the pages within. Really bright colors!
Dimensions: 6 1/2" x 8 1/4"
Sold as a Set of 6 (5 Dolls and Book)
