$15.00
Early Lucy Rigg Print with Family Christmas Baking Theme. This darling little print is quintessential Lucy Rigg with bears galore and so many intricate details in the image of all the family members busy at Christmas activities. There are cookies being made, nativity sets being set up, gifts being wrapped and even carolers outside. In Christmas colors with the center hearth adding a warm glow to all the imagery. In the bottom right hand corner is a banner indicating - Joy to the World the LORD is Come. It is hard to photograph as it is behind plastic wrap - but that has kept it clean and protected for the last 40 years! An original Lucy Rigg signature 1981, in pencil, is below the image on the neutral mat.
In excellent condition due to the protective wrapping. Some slight edge wear on the matting. Cardboard backing.
Artist biographical information I found in my research:
Lucy Rigg began making dough figures by hand in 1969 and went on to create paper goods both under her own company as well as several others. After signing with Enesco in the late 70's they produced people and bunnies from her designs, but she is most known for her smiling teddy bears. Enesco has produced figurines, musicals, mugs, tins, pins, and lots of miscellaneous collectible items, designed by Lucy, for 21 years. She has had, and continues to have, many other licensees that produce items including teapots, balloons, bookmarks, scrap booking supplies, photo albums, magnets, dolls, craft kits, bookends, baby items, throws, picture frames, and many other items. She currently lives in Seattle near her family.
