Vintage Clay Sketches Ceramic Blue Finch Figurine
Vintage Clay Sketches Ceramic Blue Finch Figurine
This is such a sweet little ceramic bird. I spied him sitting on a kitchen window ledge at an Estate sale and snapped him right up for my customers! The pastel pink head and soft blue underbelly nicely compliment the gray coloration of the back feathers. He is presented on a green branch perch and this adds to its usefulness as a display item. It would be such a wonderful addition to a Spring or Easter mantel or shelf display.
This is a mid-century bone china Blue Finch by Clay Sketches Pasadena Southern California, as noted on the base.
This piece is in excellent condition. With all the wing angles there certainly is a chance for chipping, but none has been noted in my inspection. There is the faintest of edge roughness on the tail feathers. Colors are really nice and it displays wonderfully!
A little history of the company I found:
Clay Sketches, of Pasadena Ca. was started by Cy and Edna Peterson in 1943, and continued until around 1957 creating ceramic figurines and statues.
Dimensions:
2 3/4" wide across the base X 6" tall at top of head X 3 1/2" wide at widest point of tail feathers to base
