Moving into fall colors and tones for decorating is one of my favorite seasonal changes. Halloween is a nice focal point at the end of that timeframe as well. But, I have always, even as a little girl, been frightened by Halloween "spookiness". This year I have been on the hunt for items that could be used in Fall and Halloween decorating that are fun, light hearted and definitely unique. I have quite the collection brought together. What a fun find! Live the spirit of the pioneers as they battle with nature for survival! This story by Stewart Edward White was part of a rich series telling the pioneer life. The cover art is gorgeous and perfect for the fall and Halloween season. This book has seven highly detailed illustrations throughout the book by Thomas Fogarty. There is a beautiful front piece title page with a tissue guard, fully intact. The pages are rough cut along the edges, smooth on the top edge. There is no longer gilding on the top of the pages.
