This is an exceptional piece for display and a look into Christmas in 1959. The book is entitled An American Annual of Christmas Literature and Art Edited by Randolph E. Haugan. Volume Twenty-Nine. Augsburg Publishing House. Publishers. Minneapolis. Copyright 1959.
This volume is part of a series begun with Volume I in 1931 from the same publishing house.
There are 68 pages filled with beautiful color photography, art, and stories, articles, carols, poetry, traditions, customs and illustrations about Christmas. Many of the pages are frame worthy prints on their own. Collectively it is a treasure!
All pages are intact, and the cover is intact. There is quite a bit of wear however along the edges of the spine and the paper is torn in the bottom eighth of the binding. The edges of the book, and the cover itself, are actually in really nice condition. The pages inside, however, are in excellent condition, with little or no tearing or folding of the edges. There is no mustiness to the pages. There is no writing in the book. The paper stock is quite heavy. The cover, fly leaf and Christmas Carol intro page are heavy card stock.
The Table of Contents:
The Christmas Gospel
The Christmas Story
Christmas Articles and Stories
The Houses of George Fredrick Handel
The Huddersfield Chorus
Christmas Wonders - Oberammergau's Gift to Us
Once Again it's Christmas
Christmas Customs in Other Lands
Not One Forgotten
Christmas Greens and Flowers
Christmas Poetry
Unless Ye Become
Christmas Music
Christmas Art

Frontispiece

And, Praises Sing

I wish I could post a picture of every page - it is that amazing!
I also have the volume from 1958. It is listed separately, but I would offer a 20% discount for purchasing both together. Just send me a message!
