Vintage Louis Allis Messenger March April 1948 Anthology
Vintage Louis Allis Messenger March April 1948 Anthology
This is an exceptional piece for display or use in crating project that includes a look into Easter themes in the late 1940s. The book is entitled The Louis Allis Messenger edited and prepared by van b. hooper for the friends of The Louis Allis Co. Milwaukee 7, Wis. Copyrighted 1948, March/April Issue.
There are 52 heavy stock pages filled with beautiful sepia and black and white toned pages with poems, legends and stories of America, including an advertisement for the parts produced by the Louis Allis Company. There are also full color prints of historical Christian themed paintings and other Christian themed, spring pictures. The front and back cover are in full color (illustration by George Hinke), as well as the front and back first and last pages. These are heavier weight paper. The colors are vintage spring time and so much of the imagery is worthy of framing! What an amazing piece of Americana and Christian celebration!
All pages are intact, and the cover is intact. There is some wear along the edges of the spine and cover and the back 8 pages have a small notch in the bottom right hand corner of the pages. It does feel like it still holds together quite well. There is no writing on any of the pages anywhere. It does have a slight musty odor if you bring it close to your nose.
