Vintage Shoe Shine Kit with Brushes and Product
Vintage Shoe Shine Kit with Brushes and Product
$32.50
This is a collection of wonderful shoe care items that have been procured at various Estate Sales over the last season. There was so much care taken to have quality brushes and products to maintain the few pairs of shoes that the previous generation owned. They make great display or décor items today - and they still work for their intended purpose of buffing and shining leather shoes. There are six items in the set:
-2 Shoe care products that are not for use today, but rather, for their amazing retro graphics. A glass bottle of Black Shinola Leather Dye in the original cardboard box. The top of the box has torn away from the carton, but is still included and there is overspray on the back of the box. The box is slightly dented as well but the graphics are clear and display well. The original 35 cent price tag is on top. A metal spray can of Cavalier Suede Spray from Kiwi polish with bright red and black graphics. Original cap and label still included. Dimensions: Shinola Box - 4 3/4" x 2", Cavalier Can - 5 1/5" x 2 1/4" diameter
-OXCO domed hardwood top horsehair brush with leather strap. Made in USA. Likely 1960s. Wood and bristles in great condition. Needs to be cleaned. Leather strap has a dark stain on one side (likely shoe polish) and the leather is crackling under the stain. The strap is still firmly attached. Dimensions: 5" long x 2 3/4" wide x 1 3/4" tall, 2 3/8" handle drop
-2 unbranded long shoe buffing brushes. One is light wood with a domed top and side grooves for improved gripping and horsehair bristles. The other is darker wood with concave shape and top groove. It has a wonderful hand feel and appearance. I believe the bristles are synthetic. Dimensions; 7 1/4" long, 2 to 2 1/2" wide, 1 3/4" tall
-Top Grain Cowhide Shoe shine kit case with zipper top and interior space for smaller brushes and tools. No product inside the case. The case is affixed to the top of a buffing brush with white bristles. Everything is in really nice, vintage condition. Zipper works well. Dimensions; 7 1/2" long x 2 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" tall
2 larger horse hair buffing brushes:
- One indicates 100% Sterilized Horse Hair ( 7 1/2" long)
- One indicates Esquire Boot Brush, Pure Sterilized Horse Hair, Made in USA (6 3/4" long)
1 larger profile brush with no markings (9 1/2" long)
1 Home Valet Metal Wall mount Shoe Polisher from Crimmins Products Norristown PA with both a large and small attachment (14" long with larger attachment)
1 Homemade Boot Puller with hanging strap and etched Boot Puller R.J.P. and two boots on the front. It looks like it was likely a project from shop class at some point.
Everything has been well used and there are many polished shoes in it's history. There are no significant cracks or chips in the wood and the box is still very solidly in place. It is quite heavy. There are a few paint spatters and rough spots on the top of the box. The brushes have shoe polish stains on their backs, handles and bristles but are not significantly worn down at all.
Dimensions:
15 3/4" L x 10 3/4" W (with rack), 8" W (without rack) x 12 1/2" H
