These are fun! As soon as I spotted them at an Estate Sale, they made me think of James Herriot. I am not sure if they are exactly from those stories but my research indicates they are likely British in origin. There are three in the set. The base is made of slate and the tops are etched in white, depicting a different scene. One showcases a portrait of a man with his border collie and a sheep. Another the face of a baby kit fox. The third a little field mouse among the wildflowers and grasses.

They are in really nice vintage condition with some usage wear on the top (I think they would clean up nicely). The imagery is in really nice condition. The fox has a legible signature - I think it is B. Kingsley. The backs have round green felt applied that is in really nice condition.
