Such a cute little ceramic piece; perfect for a vignette on a shelf or mantel. The ceramic is sculpted into the shape of a horse-drawn small carriage with the driver up top and the passenger stretching her legs out front. Colored imperfectly, as pieces coming out of Japan in the late 1940s/early 1950s were, in beige, orange, green, brown and black accents. Colors would be great for fall décor.
Wonderful condition. No noted nicks or crazing. The gold accent paint on the base is mostly rubbed off. The rest of the paint is likely as produced. It could use a good cleaning in the crevices.
It is marked Japan on the bottom.
