I see a lot of baskets at Estate sales and am quite particular about those I select for my customers. This small woven basket had a lot of nice features that made it stand out:

Nicely woven natural wicker with hints of green in two rows
Bent wood top edge with tiny brads and nice curves
Bent wood hanging handle for carrying or hanging
Adorable primitive farm scene painted on top of the lid
Convenient size for storage and carrying

The style and craftsmanship lead me to believe it is from the 1980s. It is in really nice condition. There are a few darkened spots on spot in the front and a few slight scuffs in the wicker. The lid is slightly askew when closed and has a few slight cracks where the hinges are nailed into the top. It has a sold wood base so it stands on it's own quite easily. Very clean on the interior. t is really charming!
