This is a fun piece of vintage kitchen ware. It is a wood and metal fruit and vegetable peeler and corer. The wood handle is painted bright red and the metal blade has a smooth edge, a serrated edge and a peeler on the top. The blade is attached to the handle with a small metal brad. There is a hanging hole in the top end of the blade. This is part of an amazing vintage red-handle farmhouse kitchen tool set that I acquired at a recent Estate sale. This piece is in decent, rustic shape, The handle is amazing and well attached. The bright red paint has little to no scuffing of the surface for the age. The metal of the blade has scratches and quite a bit of surface pitting and rust. I think it would clean up a bit with the right polish, but I am not sure it would be safe to use anymore. But, display safe - yes!
