Vintage Cleaning Tools in Original Packaging/Product
$25.00
I found these two pieces separately and thought they were great companion pieces for your Laundry room, cleaning business or even Farmhouse Kitchen. There are two pieces in the set:
1- Blitz Cloth New Super Quick Formula Wipes Away Tarnish Needs No Liquids Brilliantly Polishes All Metals (Copy from the top of the box).
On the back of the box is a full Directions panel and Made Only by Blitz Mfg. Co Inc., Auburn NY. All four sides of the box and both ends have additional copy. Inside is the actual rag. It has been used and shows how successfully it polished away tarnish. I suspect it would still work well today! The box is in pretty nice vintage condition, considering it was a used product. The colors are muted blue, yellow and tan and may have dulled with age. There are some creases and bends in the cardboard and just one small missing piece on one end - I suspect from taking the cloth in and out of box. Both ends are still in place. Everything is very easy to read. Research found the website for the company that presently manufactures Blitz polishing products including this cloth. This is the 2nd or 3rd generation of the box from the 1930's. Dimensions: Box - 2 3/4" x 5" x 1" Cloth - 8 3/4" x 8 3/4"
2 - Vintage Universal Wall Cleaning Sponge Use Dry to Clean Wallpaper Painted Surfaces Easy to Use Always Clean in One Direction with Light Sweeping Motion. Can be Cleaned When Sponge Becomes Soiled Wash in Soapy Water, Rinse and Allow to Dry Before Using. From the Faultless Rubber Company Ashland Ohio USA. All four sides of the cardboard packaging have copy to describe the use of the sponge.
I do not believe it has been used and still feels spongy and looks clean (Other than storage dust). The colors are muted blue/green for the sponge and yellowish tan and red for the packaging. It may have dulled with age. There is only one small nick in the paper covering and a few other storage scuffs and dirty marks. It is still firmly glued together. Everything is very easy to read. Research indicates The Faultless Rubber Company was in Ashland Ohio from the early 1900s through the late 1950s. I estimate this is likely from the 1940s. Dimensions: Sponge - 3 7/8" x 6" x 2"
What great pieces to display with your vintage laundry collection. They are charming, unique and one of a kind!
