What a sweet little piece. This fantastic ceramic pitcher features a raised design of a garden shed/barn inside a stand of trees with a wheelbarrow out front and a picket fence along the bottom. The back has the look of barn wood with textured nails at the wood seams. The colors used to accent the raised areas are soft green, red and brown tones. It appears to be hand painted. The bottom is marked MR (Marks and Rosenfeld Ceramics) and has a red and gold foil sticker indicating Made in Japan which dates it to the late 1950s/early 1960s.

The piece is in very nice vintage condition. The spout and handle are chip free which is hard to find after almost 70 years! There is the slightest surface marking on the unglazed bottom rim and a wonderful hand feel to the high gloss finish. Really cute and really unique!
