Vintage Playmobil #3574 Fisherman's Zodiac Boat Set, 1974
Vintage Playmobil #3574 Fisherman's Zodiac Boat Set, 1974
$30.00
This vintage Playmobil 3574 set was manufactured in 1974,an early model. The set is nearly complete. It includes the yellow Zodiac dinghy, one figure and various small accessories. As far as I can tell the only things missing are the bucket for the fish and the stickers on the hat and life jacket. Everything else is included and all the stickers have been placed in the appropriate spots on the vehicles. Really hard to find this set with so few pieces missing.
Everything is in very good condition but needs a thorough cleaning - it is dusty from storage. The bottom of the boat has usage marks. The bottom of the foot of the figure is marked @1974 Gebora.
Really fun for a collector or to share with your kids or grandkids at a fraction of the cost of a new Playmobil set with this much detail!
History of Playmobil found during my research - Playmobil is a German line of toys produced by the Brandstätter Group (Geobra Brandstätter GmbH & Co KG), headquartered in Zirndorf, Germany. The signature Playmobil toy is a 7.5 cm (3.0 in) tall[3] (1:24 scale) human figure with a smiling face. A wide range of accessories, buildings and vehicles, as well as many sorts of animals, are also part of the Playmobil line. Playmobil toys are produced in themed series of sets as well as individual special figures and playsets.
Playmobil was invented by German inventor Hans Beck (1929–2009), considered the "Father of Playmobil". Beck received training as a cabinetmaker and was also an avid hobbyist of model airplanes, a product he pitched to the company Geobra Brandstätter Horst Brandstätter, the owner of the company, asked Beck to develop toy figures for children instead.
