I love children's books, and vintage children's books are such a delight. These two Little Golden Books on a jungle theme are such a fun set - colorful and display worthy! Little Golden Books have been treasured for decades now and are still as delightful to read today and they were, as this one, back in the 1940's.
1 - "A Day in the Jungle" which tells the story of a little mouse who heard something near his home that frightened him and asks a squirrel for help. Along the way they run into other animals, all who offered their help to the mouse and together they solved the mystery of the noises the mouse heard. With pictures on nearly every page in both color and black and white, it's a wonderful story that youngsters will enjoy.

Condition: Really, really nice condition. No wear on any of the pages, the only writing on the page is the dedication to David Colyer Christmas 1944 From Aunt Katie. The fabric binding is intact with just slight creasing on the top and color fading on the outside. The colors on the front cover are quite bright. There is one spot of slight ruffling of the paper cover that is more tactile than visible. The pages have darkened with age and there is a slight musty odor. The ends of the pages have been painted a dark green so the book displays really well with the pages showing. Dimensions: 8" x 6 3/4"
2 - "The Saggy Baggy Elephant" One of the classic Golden Books! The story about an baby elephant who thought his skin was too big for his body and how he found out that he was really a very beautiful little elephant.

The colors on the front cover are quite bright. Interior pages really nice. I don't think this book was read or handled much. Dimensions: 8" x 6 3/4"
