This vintage Nagoya Little Hostess Toy Child's Tea Set from the 1950s is a rare gem for collectors and toy enthusiasts. Made in Japan, this set is perfect for children aged 4-7, but also great for display or as a unique addition to any vintage or antique toy collection. I had a very similar set when I was little, and it is amazing to me that the box is still in one piece, there are no chips or cracks on any of the china pieces and a large percentage of the pieces are still available! I wish I had been as careful.

The pieces that come with the set are a teapot and lid ( lid is off-color from the rest of the set, may be a replacement, or manufacturing defect) , sugar bowl and lid, creamer, 3 larger cups and 3 saucers and 2 smaller cups and 2 saucers. The design on the pieces is a creamy white lusterware background with a soft blue rim and red and blue flower decorations. The background color on the three larger saucers is darker than the others. The 2 small cups are blue with tan rims and no flowers (maybe part of a different set, originally?).

The original box, with the top label and printed decorations is a dusty, dark brown. I believe the original color was brown as well but this has darkened and faded over time. The liner inside is silver cardboard and there are inserts in the base as well as the lid to snugly hold the set together. The inside pieces are a bit dirty, with minimal tears or structural challenges. The base box and lid is sturdy and is only slightly torn on the corners on the lid. The outside decorative paper is in delicate condition, with edge and corner flakiness. The label on the end and sides of the lid of the box indicates: Nagoya Toy Tea Set 1600/4/1 No. 600 Made in Japan. The original Sears Roebuck price sticker of $1.00 is on the end as well. Japan is stamped on the bottom of many of the china pieces as well.
