Vibrant Talavera Ceramic small serving or storage bowl from Puebla, Mexico. It has the pottery mark from Las Maravillas in Puebla, Mexico on the bottom, authenticating it's source.
The piece is handcrafted~ And completely hand decorated by the artisans. The colors are extremely vibrant with dark blue rims and shades of blue, green and gold throughout the folk art imagery. A dark blue animal is at the center of the bottom (I think it is a deer). The design covers the bottom and sides of the bowl. There is texturing in the painted design as well.

The bottom of the bowl is painted white. Every surface has a high glass finish.

This would be perfect for serving crudités, or as part of your Cinco de Mayo party or Taco Tuesday buffet. I have a similar piece and use it when we are having Mexican flavors on our dinner table. It adds to the ambiance of the meal! It would not take well to the oven or the dishwasher.

This piece could also be used as a wall hanging. There are holes in the bottom and a string for hanging. Very versatile!

You would expect a handcrafted vintage bowl to have some scuffs and wear on the surface. This piece is really, really clean. Really fun little piece!
