Vintage Theorem Painting of Fruit Basket by Pat B Stradley in Antique Frame

Vintage Theorem Painting of Fruit Basket by Pat B Stradley in Antique Frame

$55.00
I found a wonderful set of vintage, framed Theorem Paintings by Pat Stradley. These are becoming harder and harder to find. This set of lovely old Theorem paintings were beautifully crafted by Pat in the 1980's ~ and feature primitive, stylized Still Life Fruit and Fruit in Bowls. These pieces honor the historic techniques and materials used by New England colonial women during the early 1800’s, using hand-cut Paper Stencils on antiqued Cotton Velvet. Both have been protected under glass.

This is the larger of the two and is housed in an antique dark wood frame with a simple design. The painting is still bright with a vintage patina and is a charming piece of original American Folk Art. The frame does have some scuffs in the bottom and roughness on the corners, showing it's age. The back has a hand written title, "Fruits & Watermelon" by Pat Stradley. The imagery depicts a full fruit bowl with grapes, berries, apples, and a perky blue watermelon spilling out of the side of a basket. The background is a neutral velvet with a slight light yellow tinge. Signed PBS. Brown paper backing with a wire hanger.

This just a beautifully executed theorem - and pretty special to find more than one by the same artist.
