Vintage Ian Woodner Lithograph Print
Vintage Ian Woodner Lithograph Print
$28.00
This is a really approachable way to own and display a piece of Americana. This is an original lithograph print from Ian Woodner, as featured in the Woman's Day April 1965 issue. I found these as a set of three, but am selling individually so more people have a chance to own them!
This piece is entitled Anemomes, Laurel & Fern as noted on the bottom of the piece. It also indicates Original Watercolor by Ian Woodner. His signature is on the piece as well.
Beautiful celebration of later summer flowers on heavy paper stock. It slips into a bright blue mat with cardboard backing that will be sent with the piece as well. The print is in excellent condition. The blue mat shows some signs of storage with slightly bent corners and surface scuffs. The words on the bottom of the print are slightly cut off on the bottom of the page.
The biography of Ian Woodner is fascinating! Ian Woodner (January 25, 1903 – November 1, 1990) was an American real estate developer, artist and art collector. He was born in New York City to a Polish immigrant family. He was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He had a role in designing the Central Park Zoo and various buildings at the 1939 World's Fair. He began collecting art in the early 1950s. His interest in art collecting stemmed from his own work over the years in watercolors and pastels, which has been exhibited in New York, Munich and Jerusalem. Some of his work is still on display today in the lobby of the Woodner Apartments in Washington, D.C..
