Two lovely vintage handmade Corn Husk Dolls that are a step above many of the simpler versions available. The details are incredible, double layer of corn husk, one for the doll itself that other for the dyed dresses. One dress is soft purple, the other pink. Hand painted faces and elaborate hair styles, complete with bows. Both have adorable pastel shoes. Each is carrying a special item as well. The doll in the purple dress has a small basket of flowers with intricate details. The doll in the pink dress has her own doll in hand with a painted face. These are just so well made that they have lasted in wonderful condition for over 40 years.

I believe the coloring of the purple dress may have faded a bit over time and. The back of the hair of the young lady in pink is a bit mussed as well. Other than that - really, really nice. They stand on their own easily for display and use in décor.

They show some signs of having been displayed - dustiness and some dirty spots on the man's legs but they really would display nicely with your collection of Early American books and artifacts.
