This vintage 1976 God Bless America US Eagle with American Flag framed needlepoint and crewel picture would make the perfect Independence Day decoration or a great gift for the patriot in your life. The embroidery is very well done. It appears to be wool thread used to complete the piece, with intricate details included. The full piece is embroidered with shades of colonial blues, creamy white, browns and and red abundant red accents. The bottom indicates 1976 God Bless America with an artistic interpretation of the US Eagle coat of arms in the center and an American flag in the background. I really admire the hand-work of the seamstress for this piece. Much love and care was taken to create this patriotic wall hanging.

It is framed in a solid, beveled oak wood frame with a brown paper backing (there is a bit of staining on the brown backing). The seamstress initials of BAH is signed in the lower right hand corner on the front. There is a nice hanging wire on the back. It would be the perfect piece to set on the mantel during patriotic holidays (4th of July, Veterans Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, D-Day Anniversary, Election Day etc.)

The piece is in very good vintage condition. The stitching is in wonderful shape. There are a few spots that appear to have a surface dark stain on the off-white of the flag. I believe it would clean up nicely with Woolite, but are not super obvious. The frame is in very nice vintage condition, square corners and no nicks. The back has a sticker for the name of the framing shop and multiple stamps for the retailer (both from Illinois).
