Framed Vintage 1940's Mother Poem Litho
Framed Vintage 1940's Mother Poem Litho
$22.50
Looking for a unique Mother's Day or Baby Shower gift? Here is the perfect piece! This is a very nice framed Vintage "To Mother" poem from the 1940s. The presentation is very eye appealing and has the added flair of a sweet etched wood light wood frame.
To Mother
If I could paint with a magic brush
A picture that would trace
The sweetest thing on earth to me,
I'd draw my mother's face.
If I could sing a little song,
With music sweet and clear,
I'd sing the songs that fill my heart
With Love for You my dear.....
The piece is also enhanced by the lovely lithograph print in the background in bright art deco colors - pink, green, blue and yellow. The image includes a woman (presuming it is a Mother) at a spinning wheel near the hearth with sunshine streaming in the window. The scene is completed by flower pots on the window sill and cats at play nearby.
The print is in excellent condition as it has been under glass. The frame is in nice condition, there are areas where the beige surface is darkened. I'm not sure if this is dirtiness of a finish that was not evenly applied. The corners are tight on the frame. The back is cardboard. There is a metal circular hanging loop at the top on the back.
No branding is visible. It may be under the frame but I did not want to take it apart to confirm. I'm very comfortable that this is likely a Buzz Motto lithograph from the 1940s.
Sweet size, sweeter yet sentiment!
