Vintage Lone Star Seed Company Unused Seed Packets (10)
Vintage Lone Star Seed Company Unused Seed Packets (10)
I've had these seed packets for a while and used them in the past to add some "vintage vibe" to my vegetable seedlings on the sun porch, strung on some twine. But, I've seen some really creative uses of these seed packets, so decided to offer them to Warmth & Cheer customers so they are used, and not buried in a drawer somewhere!
This a a really nice set of ten vintage seed packets from the Lone Star Seed Co. of San Antonio, Texas, in never-used condition! These are a different style than Lone Star's familiar, long-time "banner" packets. Seven of them are 10 cent packets that are about 60 years old and are old stock in varying condition. Two are 15 cent packets and one is a 20 cent packet. All have sharp, crisp graphics with vivid colors by Schmidt Lithograph Co. of San Francisco, Ca (One is from Stetcher-Traung-Schmidt) .. This lot includes (2) Beans (Bush), Corn, Black Eye Peas, (2) Peas (Bush Premium Gem), Peas (Bush Alaska), Beans (Lima Speckled Pole), Peas (Little Marvel) and Beans (Bush Stringless Greenpod). Each of the front has bright, colorful images of the vegetables and 8 of the 10 have red print in the top left hand corner detailing days to germination. All have English and Spanish planting instructions on the back.
All but one are unsealed. The newest 20 cent Beans (Bush) Stringless Greenpod has been sealed closed and has a piece of cardboard inside. Three of the 10 cent Peas packets are not as bright white and have darkening of the background on the back. They also look like they had been glued onto something at some point.
Please note: These are never-used packets. This means there are no seeds inside.
