I imagine this to be a souvenir from a favorite trip to the Alps. I found this at an Estate sale of world travelers and thought it was just so cute. And, the thermometer seems to work just fine!

The piece has a carved wooden base with miniature pickaxe and knapsack with a bell above the round thermometer . The thermometer dial is surrounded by faux stag antler. There is a sturdy chain hanger on the top and two small red tipped key hangers on the bottom. Really cute!

The base is made of wood. The pick axe and faux antler are plastic, as well as the thermometer face. The knapsack is made of green felt. The bell and heart are metal.

Everything is in nice vintage condition and still firmly affixed to the wood base. The bell was glued to the knapsack at one time, but now moves freely and residual glue can be seen if out of alignment. The wood has scuffs and dings. There is an original price tag of M80 (80 Marks?) on the back. Likely Swiss or German
