I love the quirky MCM look of this hand painted Standard Specialty bar tray with it's intricate hand painted mallard duck in flight and accents of oranges reeds and two small blue ducks on the horizon. The paint on the wings of the mallard is layered and raised off the surface. The tray is made from blonde colored wood with really nice grain and four chrome corners. There are two curved top handles on both ends as well. The images on the tray are vibrant and definitely reflect the artwork of the period.

This tray would be fun to display in your man cave or MCM bar and convenient to use with the short sides keeping items from sliding off when carried. It would also work well in the kitchen or patio or even to set on a foot stool in the living room as a useful décor accent.

I have run across quite a few similar trays and found them to be in rough condition due to their age and usage around food and beverages. This tray was an exception to that experience. While there are some areas where the surface is slightly compromised and a few stains are evident, it really shows well. A really good cleaning is in order. There is only one small spot of paint scuffing on the gray wing of the mallard, otherwide the paint is in amazing condition! The original gold foil Japan Made for Standard Specialty Co. is still on the back.

Really nice example of MCM design and a practical tray for the bar, buffet or shelf display.
