This charming metal Bundt cake pan/Jello or aspic mold at first looks like a little bucket with smooth sides and a clip on lid. When you turn it over you see the elaborate design on the bottom. Take the lid off and the center metal dowel gives evidence of it's use as a Bundt cake or Jello mold. The interior also shows the elaborate design that would be part of the finished product. The lid has a handle and two sturdy clips to keep it on.

The marking on the top of the lid indicates Made in Germany (couldn't get a clear picture). My research leads me to believe it is likely from the 1940s. It would be wonderful for storing things in the farmhouse kitchen or as a decorative element. Of course, it would work for its original purpose and you could bake a cake in it!

This piece is in very nice vintage condition. There is vintage wear on the surfaces, marks and oxidation and slight rusting on seams. There is a distinct line on the outside of the piece about an inch from the lid. Not sure why it is there. The outside rim of the lid is dent free and still closes quite tightly. The handle is still firmly affixed on the top of the lid as well. Everything needs a good cleaning before use.

This is a really nice piece in design terms, and quite unique and hard to find in such nice condition.
