This is one of three Anri Italy hand carved wooden children's art on linen fabric backgrounds that were found at an Estate Sale of world travelers. They are beyond adorable and would be such special additions to your nursery, playroom, or even classroom. This one with the subject matter of marching soldiers would also be wonderful to add to your Independence Day décor. The second picture shows it used just this way! These are rare - so finding three was really an exciting find!

This piece is three proper little soldiers in sharp blue uniforms with red caps marching. Thre is a little cannon and a pile of cannon balls to complete the image. The piece is signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner but I am not able to read the signature. (I even sent an email to the ANRI company for help in identifying but, alas, no response.)

The pieces are carved from wood and painted in soft colors. There are a few painted embellishments on the linen background as well. The frame is a simple wood frame painted gold with subtle red antiquing accents. The back is fiber board with a simple hanging wire. The ANRI Italy gold foil with green lettering and green pine tree sticker is on the back and the C ANRI small white sticker is also affixed. My research indicates this logo was used in 1954.

The piece is in amazing condition, considering this is a mid-century item. The only noted aging is some scuffing along the edges and corners of the paint on the frame. The figures in the wall hanging are in excellent condition.
