I remember having the hardest time last winter finding a fun little winter scene oil painting to brighten up my winter displays. Imagine my excitement when I found this little piece. It was just the kind of thing I was looking for to add some color to a winter mantel display. I want Warmth & Cheer customers to have better luck than I had last year!

This vintage oil painting is entitled "New England Snow" based on the notation on the back.
It is just a sweet little winter scene with the soft winter sky, the billowing snow drifts and the snowdrifts and snow bedecked evergreen trees with a fence in the foreground and the numerous barns in the background. You can almost feel the cold and crispness in the air! The colorways are brightly pastel with a early morning undertone, which makes it adaptable to many décor styles. The paint on the surface is textured to help it capture the light.

You could add this painting to a collection of nature scenes or prop it on a bookshelf or mantel. It is signed M. Lapins on the front and Marie Lapins Jan 1967 on the back.

It is currently unframed but the edges are in very nice vintage condition still. A few scuffs in the corners is all. The painting is in very nice condition with no noticeable scuffs in the surface of the image.

Overall really nice condition and a special original signed piece! 

I have another piece listed from the same artist in my shop. She was likely related to the people at the Estate Sale where they were found. I have not been able to find any other biographical information on her though.
