Interesting Friends Book One
Enjoying Literature
By Leonida Warren Payne Jr., Mark A. Neville and Natalie E. Chapman
Published by Rand McNally & Company
Copyright 1936, 1941 Edition
Red cloth cover boards with title and illustration in black on front and binding.

This volume is one of four comprising a high school series, Enjoying Literature. Each volume had a focus and for this one it is 'friends' and the qualities of friends and friendships.
Rather a nice mix of authors are presented from Herodotus, Shakespeare, Poe, Audubon, Kipling and so many more!

There is edge rubbing and corner curling on the cover with a pencil mark on the front cover. There are some white specks on the back cover. Page 53 - 66 have dog eared top left hand corners. There is a set of students English assignment notes found in the book. They were placed between Page 66 and 67, as such, those pages have been discolored from the notebook paper. Otherwise the pages are in really nice condition and there is no writing in the book other than a signature and Part I& II written on the front fly leaf. The binding is tight and square.

I found a wonderful collection of vintage children's books for mid-elementary and older readers at a sale this past month and am working to get them posted. There is a little video showing the first four titles attached. Come back for more!
